We are passionate about music and production. Vertical Music was set up by two colleagues with over 40 years of combined film production and music industry experience. Our mandate is to create high quality content that is visually engaging, produced with the minimum of fuss and at a sensible price.
Tom started working in the music business at MTV in 1999 as a cable-basher for All Saints. An introduction at EMI led to a job in the press and marketing departments at Parlophone Records before moving across to Commercial Marketing at Sony BMG. For the last decade he has worked with Paul Loasby at One Fifteen who manage Pink Floyd, Jools Holland, David Gilmour and Deacon Blue alongside young artists including We Are The Ocean, Nell Hudson, Scoundrels and Sonia Bernardo.
Paul began his career driving old London buses around the world and making TV series for international broadcast. In 2003 he conceptualised and produced the ad-funded TV series Racing Rivals for ITV, creating 13 hours of content per year, which at the time was the largest project of its kind in the UK. Since then sister company Vertical Productions has been producing advertising and web content for some of the worlds’ best brands.
We have a unique insight in to the world of music, from world famous acts playing the stadiums and arenas to developing artists playing at the UK’s best small venues. Regardless of the act, our approach is to produce the same level of high quality content for broadcast on TV, DVD + BluRay, the web and social media.
We are an extremely experienced production team with a great network of music industry specialists. We organise all aspects of a shoot, and can shoot single or multi-camera, depending on the requirements of the production.
All post-production takes place in our state-of-the-art facilities in our central London offices. Deacon Blue returned to Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom for the first time in over 20 years for an emotional live performance. We covered the concert with 8 cameras with a live mix on the night to capture the full energy of the performance. Post gig, we worked further with the footage to produce a critically acclaimed 2-hour 15-min live performance DVD + BluRay which charted at No. 2 in the UK Music Video Charts.
